The Katawba Valley Land Trust works with a number of organizations as partners in protecting our natural resources. These include:
- The Nation Ford Land Trust, a sister organization which operates in York County. Because the two organizations both work in the Catawba River Valley, we have close coordination and joint activities.
- The South Carolina Catawba River Task Force and its Implementation Committee. This group developed the Catawba River Corridor Plan, which has provided guidance for many of the activities of the land trust. Staffing for the Task Force is provided by Catawba Regional Council of Governments.
- The South Carolina Land Trust Network is an organization of land trusts in the state. The groups cooperate on joint activities and educational opportunities.
- The Carolinas Land Conservation Network is a coalition of conservation organizations in the region surrounding Charlotte, N.C. The Bi-State group helps to develop coordinated approaches to land conservation in a high-growth environment.
- The Palmetto Conservation Foundation and the Palmetto Trust for Historic Preservation are state-wide groups which work as partners with land trusts in providing technical assistance and other support.
- The Land Trust works closely with several State of South Carolina agencies, including the Department of Natural Resources, the Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism, the Department of Archives and History, and the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology.
- KVLT is a member of the Land Trust Alliance, a national coalition of land trusts, which provides leadership on issues of common concern and opportunities for education and training.
- We also participate with a number of national environmental groups, including The Nature Conservancy, the Trust For Public Land, and others.
- The Land Trust partners with Chester County Schools and Lancaster County Schools to enhance environmental education opportunities for students.
