  • A second parcel of 8.19-acres along Gills Creek was acquired by donation.

  • A conservation easement was secured on 219 acres along the flood plain of Crooked Creek in Marlboro County from Becker Minerals.

  • Working with the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, KVLT agreed to purchase 210 acres from Crescent Resources, Inc. on the Lancaster County side of the Catawba River. KVLT subsequently transferred the right to purchase the land to PRT, and it has been added to Landsford Canal State Park.

  • The Lancaster County School District donated 16.6 acres to create a natural area adjacent to the school complex on Woodland Drive. The land, in the flood plain of Gills Creek, became part of the Lancaster Greenway Preserve.

  • A 2.3-acre parcel of land on Gills Creek was donated to the land trust by a local businessman and became part of the Lancaster Greenway Preserve.
Activities of Katawba Valley Land Trust have resulted in the preservation by acquisition or easement of a total of approximately 2,268 acres of land in four South Carolina counties.
