- Lancaster County Council agreed to donate the historic Old Landsford Road bridge over Cane Creek just west of the City of Lancaster. This bridge, built in 1906, is believed to be the first reinforced concrete bridge in South Carolina.
- Three lots totaling 1.38 acres were added to the eastern section of the Lancaster Greenway Preserve through donations from the McMurray and Barnes families
- Crescent Resources, Inc. agreed to sell 1,049 acres adjacent to Landsford Canal State Park in Chester County to KVLT. The transaction is scheduled to close by the end of 2001, and the land will be transferred to SC PRT. The acquisition will add 4,700 feet of river frontage to the park's area.
- A conservation easement was donated to KVLT on Dry Creek west of Chester by the Blake family. The 100-foot easement along the creek totals about 5.7 acres.
- Bowater Corporation signed a conservation easement with KVLT for the protection of the site of the Battle of Camden in Kershaw County. This 290-acre tract was the scene of a major conflict in August 1780 in which the British under Lord Cornwallis defeated a Patriot force commanded by General Gates. KVLT, in coordination with local historical groups, will develop a management plan for the site.
- A gift of 54 acres of land on Camp Creek at US Highway 521 was announced by the Belk family. It includes 5,221 feet of frontage on the south side of Camp Creek.
- KVLT received a second donation on Camp Creek from two families. This land, consisting of 4.7 acres located north of Lancaster, includes wooded flood plain and a beaver dam on Camp Creek.
Activities of Katawba Valley Land Trust have resulted in the preservation by acquisition or easement of a total of approximately 2,268 acres of land in four South Carolina counties.
